The Soul Reaver is a craftable Hardmode melee weapon. It throws echoes of the soul reaver at no ammunition or mana cost; these javelins stick onto the enemy. Right-click instead thrusts the weapon like a spear; when striking an enemy with echoes stuck onto them, they will turn into wisps that heal the player for 2 life each. Up to 10 echoes can be stuck onto a given enemy at a time; any new ones will replace the oldest echo. Echoes will disappear automatically after 10 seconds.
