Shadow-Purge Caltrops are consumable Hardmode throwing weapons that have a short range, but linger on the ground for 20 seconds after being thrown. They drop from certain Goblin enemies during the Goblin Army event after the Wall of Flesh has been defeated. Upon contacting an enemy, they burst into 4-5 shadowy tendrils that shower the surrounding area, damaging enemies. Both the initial hit and the shadowy tendrils inflict the Shadowflame debuff.
