The Mantis Shrimp Punch is a Hardmode flail that is dropped by the Forgotten One. It creates sound waves as it travels and creates a sound explosion upon contacting an enemy, although these do not deal additional damage. It also has a very high critical hit chance and velocity.
The flail head can be extended up to 34 tiles before returning. As it is a 'launched' flail rather than a 'thrown' one, it cannot be flailed around as you walk, immediately disappearing upon its return.
Trivia
- This weapon and its function reference the mantis shrimp, a real crustacean that is said to possess the fastest punch of any animal, capable of striking with the force of a rifle bullet.
