The Dread Tearer is a craftable Hardmode radiant weapon. When swung, it will produce a double-edged scythe that spins in a full circle around the player, damaging enemies. Dealing damage will expel a dread energy particle that surrounds the player for 5 seconds or until it finds a nearby enemy to home in on and damage. Both the scythe itself and the dread energy inflict the Cursed Inferno debuff upon hit enemies.

Upon striking an enemy, the user will gain 2 stacks of Soul Essence. The offensive dread energy will not provide additional soul essence.

Its best modifier is Godly.
