Golden Locks is a craftable Hardmode melee weapon. On use, the player rapidly throws short-ranged punches in the direction of the cursor that slowly curve and decelerate. Damaging enemies with punches results in a visual explosion. Every 5 hits will additionally charge the weapon, up to a maximum of 6 charges. Charges augment the weapon's right-click attack.

Right-clicking with Golden Locks will instead fire a spread of 6 bullets at no ammunition or mana cost. The bullets each deal 150% of the weapon's base damage. The right-click's firing speed and bullet spread will be improved based on the number of charges the player has, and consumes 1 charge per blast. With no charges, the shotgun blast has a base use time of 60 (Snail) and 45º bullet angle variance, while at 6 charges has a base use time of 5 (Insanely Fast) and no bullet spread.

Both the punches and the bullets briefly inflict the On Fire! debuff onto enemies on hit.

Its best modifier is Godly.

• The effect of the number of charges on the shotgun blast's use time and angle variance can be defined by the following formulae :

  • ${\text{spreadCharge}}=(-0.0021\times {\text{numCharges}}^{3})+(0.0359\times {\text{numCharges}}^{2})-(0.213\times {\text{numCharges}})+0.45$
• The punches will move with the player, appearing relatively static on their screen.
• If the Show Donator Item Color configuration option is disabled, the Golden Locks will have a rarity of instead of the standard .

Tips

• The formula for the shotgun blast augmentation encourages building up a full charge before unloading all at once.

• This weapon is a direct reference to Ember Celica, the weapon used by the character Yang Xiao Long in the web series RWBY.
  • The weapon's name is an allusion to Goldilocks and the Three Bears, whom Yang Xiao Long was based off of.
  • This weapon is one of 3 donator weapons based on the weapons used by the primary protagonists of RWBY; the others being Little Red and Snow White.
