The Aeon Staff is a Hardmode sentry summon weapon that is sold by the Spiritualist after any Mechanical Boss has been defeated. It summons Valefor, who conjures orbs that split into five homing projectiles to attack enemies, as well as blowing back any enemy in front of it.
Summoning a second Valefor will always cause the first to disappear, even if the player has Minion bonuses.
Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, Minions cannot deal critical hits. The only significant advantage a Mythical Aeon Staff has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

Trivia
- This weapon is a direct reference to Final Fantasy X. In it, aeons are summoned to do battle by the character Yuna.
- Valefor is the first aeon obtained in the game, and the one most commonly associated with Yuna.
- The design of the staff is based on the default Staff Yuna wields.
