The Strange Skull is a craftable Pre-Hardmode sentry summon weapon. It summons a Gaster Blaster at the player's cursor that fires laser beam towards nearby enemies. These beams are able to pierce, and inflict the Karma debuff, dealing rapid damage over time.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, Minions cannot deal critical hits. The only significant advantage a Mythical Strange Skull has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

Trivia

• This item is directly based on the boss fight against the character Sans from the game Undertale. In it, he uses "Gaster Blasters" skulls that fire lasers, very similarly to the Strange Skull's attack.
  • The debuff it inflicts is a reference to the Karmic Retribution effect that is used by Sans during his boss fight. The debuff tooltip references one of Sans' most famous quotes.
