Whispering armor is a Hardmode Healer armor set that is dropped by the Forgotten One.
It consists of a Whispering Hood, Whispering Tabard and Whispering Leggings.
The Whispering Hood gives 16 defense, 25% decreased non-radiant damage, 25% increased radiant damage, 12% increased radiant critical strike chance, increases maximum mana by 40, healing spells will heal an additional 1 life and your radiant powers become corrupted; the Whispering Tabard gives 26 defense, 35% decreased non-radiant damage, 35% increased radiant damage, 8% increased radiant critical strike chance and healing spells will heal an additional 2 life; and the Whispering Leggings gives 20 defense, 25% decreased non-radiant damage, 25% increased radiant damage, 6% increased radiant critical strike chance, 15% decreased mana cost and healing spells will heal an additional 1 life.
A full set provides a total of 62 defense, 85% decreased non-radiant damage, 85% increased radiant damage, 26% increased radiant critical strike chance, 15% decreased mana cost, healing spells will heal an additional 4 life, increases maximum mana by 40 and corrupts the player's radiant powers. Its set bonus causes abyssal tentacles to spawn that attack nearby enemies with energy bolts, damaging them and inflicting the Shadowflame debuff. Additionally, hit enemies will restore 1 health and 1 mana to the wearer.
Wearing a full set has the additional unlisted effect of displaying a unique line of dialogue whenever the player defeats a boss.

- This set draws inspiration from the Cthulhu Mythos, particularly the Whispering Hood's tentacles.

- 1.7.1.6: Updated set bonus dialogue to use the same style as Lucy the Axe's, including a new emote. It will now also be visible to all players in multiplayer.
