The Sword of Destiny is a Master Mode-exclusive pet summoning item that has a chance to be dropped by Buried Champion. It spawns a Sword of Destiny pet to follow you around. The Sword of Destiny will float directly above the player's head, bobbing up and down; the speed and amplitude of the bobbing is amplified based on the amount of missing life the player has.
The Sword of Destiny is immune to damage from enemies. Upon player death, the pet will rapidly fall through the player, additionally buring itself into a tile if it lands on one, before despawning.
Trivia
- This item is based on the story of the sword of Damocles. In it, the eponymous coutier convinces his king to allow him the throne for a day, but discovers a sword hung by a hair placed above his head as a reminder of the position's constant threats.
