Total amount
In order to craft a Terrarium Defender, the following base materials are required:
Terrarium Core
Terrarium Cores are crafted with one of every bar up to Chlorophyte, plus one Ectoplasm. Note that two Terrarium Cores are crafted from one of each material, thus only requiring six of each of the components.
Copper / Tin Bar
Copper Bar, and its equivalent Tin Bar, are early game bars that can be crafted with the respective ores found in the Underground and Cavern layers. They are the easiest obtainable bars in the game, thus obtaining enough should be easy. An alternate method to mining is to fish for any Crate type, except the Golden Crates, and open them to obtain the ores to craft them, or the bars themselves. Additionally, once the Wall of Flesh has been defeated, the Blacksmith will begin to sell these bars, making this perhaps the easiest method.
Iron / Lead Bar
Iron Bars and Lead Bars, like Copper Bars and Tin Bars, can be crafted with their respective ores found in the Underground and Cavern layers. The bars or their ores are also obtained from any crate besides the Golden Crate. As with Copper Bars and Tin Bars, once the Wall of Flesh has been defeated, the Blacksmith will begin to sell these bars.
Silver / Tungsten Bar
Silver Bars and Tungsten Bars can be crafted with their respective ores which are found in the Underground and Cavern layers, random drops from Slimes, and also on Floating Islands. Unlike the previous bars, they can be obtained from Golden Crates as well. As with the previous bars, once the Wall of Flesh has been defeated, the Blacksmith will begin to sell these bars.
Gold / Platinum Bar
Gold Bars and Platinum Bars are obtained from the same sources as Silver Bars and Tungsten Bars, but are generally more rare. As with the previous bars, once the Wall of Flesh has been defeated, the Blacksmith will begin to sell these bars.
Demonite / Crimtane Bar
Demonite Bars and Crimtane Bars are crafted with their respective ores, which can be found in minor quantities in the Underground and Cavern layers; however, the main source of obtaining the ores is by defeating the Eye of Cthulhu, or the Eater of Worlds for Demonite Ore and the Brain of Cthulhu for Crimtane Ore. Unlike all previous bars, these can not be obtained from crates. In addition, the Blacksmith will begin selling these bars after at least one Mechanical Boss has been defeated.
Meteorite Bar
Meteorite Bars are crafted with Meteorite, which can be mined in meteor crash sites or obtained from the Meteor Heads that spawn there. Meteor crash sites appear after the player has smashed a Shadow Orb in Corruption worlds, or a Crimson Heart in Crimson worlds, under certain conditions. Unlike other Pre-Hardmode bars, the Blacksmith will not sell these.
Hellstone Bar
Hellstone Bars are crafted with Hellstone, which can be mined in The Underworld. As most of The Underworld is covered in lava, the easiest way to mine these in major amounts is to use an Obsidian Skin Potion, Lava Waders (or any of its upgrades), or a combination of those. Alternatively, the Blacksmith will begin selling these bars after at least one Mechanical Boss has been defeated. This is the most powerful bar that is purchasable from the Blacksmith; all Hardmode bars will have to be collected manually.
Cobalt / Palladium Bar
Cobalt Bars and Palladium Bars are crafted with their respective ores, which can be found in random quantities in Hardmode worlds after an Altar is destroyed. They can be obtained from any crate in Hardmode as well, but only in bar form.
Mythril / Orichalcum Bar
Mythril Bars and Orichalcum Bars are crafted with their respective ores, which can be obtained in the same way Cobalt Ore and Palladium Ore are obtained, but are generated after the second Altar is destroyed. They can also be obtained from any crate in Hardmode.
Adamantite / Titanium Bar
Adamantite Bars and Titanium Bars are crafted with with their respective ores, which are obtained in the same way as the previous two bar types, but are generated after the third Altar is destroyed; and can again also be obtained from any crate in Hardmode.
Hallowed Bar
Hallowed Bars, unlike all previous bars, are not crafted, but instead obtained as guaranteed drops from the three Mechanical Bosses.
Chlorophyte Bar
Chlorophyte Bars are crafted with Chlorophyte Ore, which starts generating during Hardmode, converting Mud Blocks and Jungle Grass. Hallowed-tier or higher mining tools are required to mine it, thus requiring the player to have defeated all three Mechanical Bosses.
Ectoplasm
Ectoplasm is dropped by Dungeon Spirits, which start spawning in the Dungeon after Plantera has been defeated.
Ankh Shield
For the guide to crafting an Ankh Shield and obtaining its components, refer to the vanilla guide Crafting an Ankh Shield.
Note the following accessories used to craft the Ankh Shield can be additionally obtained from the following enemies added in the Thorium Mod:
Holy Aegis
The Holy Aegis is crafted with the Cross Necklace and the Paladin's Shield.
Cross Necklace
The Cross Necklace has a 14.29% chance to be dropped by any non-biome Mimic, aside from the Ice Mimic. The Lifeform Analyzer is very helpful in finding the Mimics naturally.
Alternatively, placing a Suspicious Golden Key inside an empty Chest will allow you to manually spawn one. Suspicious Golden Keys are purchasable from the Tracker after completing the eighth contract for 2 . Additionally, after defeating Fallen Beholder, the Spiritualist will begin to sell the Cross Necklace directly for 15 .
Paladin's Shield
The Paladin's Shield has a 9.33% / 13.56% chance to be dropped by a Paladin, which spawn in the Dungeon after Plantera has been defeated. It can also be crafted with six Holy Knight's Alloys at a Hardmode Anvil. Holy Knight's Alloy also drop from Paladins, but serve as a way to directly obtain the accessory if unlucky.
Frozen Turtle Shell
The Frozen Turtle Shell has a 1% chance of being dropped by Ice Tortoises in the Ice biome.
