The Super Dart Trap is a trap found inside the Jungle Temple and, rarely, outside the Temple's door. It fires a dart when activated via wire, which costs no ammunition, but a cooldown period of (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 3.33 seconds / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 3 seconds is required between firings. The darts deal 80 / 160 / 240 damage[1] and inflict Poisoned for 15 / 30 / 37.5 seconds to players (40 damage and 15 seconds of Poisoned to NPCs, enemies, and critters).[2]

(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Super Dart Traps can be rotated 90° with a hammer.

(Old-gen console and 3DS versions) Unlike Lihzahrd Bricks, breaking Super Dart Traps does not require the Picksaw.

Notes

  • As with Dart Traps, darts deal piercing damage and will inflict invincibility frames, making only one of a vertical column of darts hit.
  • The Super Dart Trap can shoot through a single block directly in front of it.
  • The projectile's speed and duration are identical to those of the normal Dart Trap projectile's – it travels at exactly 45 tiles per second, and will break after 60 seconds if it does not strike a block first, giving it a maximum range of 2,700 tiles.

Trivia

  • The Super Dart Trap's graphic resembles a stylized stone head. Traps involving such heads firing darts out of their mouths are a common sight in popular culture, such as the Indiana Jones movies.

History
