The Ghastly Carapace is a craftable Hardmode shield accessory. It provides death prevention, recovering the player to 5% of their maximum life upon taking fatal damage and teleporting them instantly to their spawn point, briefly showing a blue ring around them to indicate this. This effect can only be active every 2 minutes, so it does not provide infinite avoidance of death.

Notes

• If the Show Donator Item Color configuration option is disabled, the Ghastly Carapace will have a rarity of instead of the standard .
• Dying with this form of death prevention does not give the player any immunity frames. Because of this, the player may want to be extra careful of where they place their respawn point as if it is in a dangerous area, the player may just die again right after being teleported home.
